The Henryetta Historical Society Territorial Museum Joseph W. Hardin Traveling Exhibit
This exhibit hosts Henryetta Historical Society's collection of panoramic negatives, some up to eight feet in length. These negatives were taken by Joseph W. Hardin, a photographer from Henryetta, Oklahoma, in the early 1920s. The photos are dramatic and amazing in their ability to truly communicate the day-to-day life of an early twentieth century small town.
After providing digital archival services for a large portion of their photo collection we provided an innovative traveling exhibit solution. This free-standing, fully immersive exhibit showcased the panoramic photos at full size and larger. This exhibit also won an Oklahoma Museum Association (OMA) award for best Traveling Exhibit in 2005.
In 2007, we produced over 100 completely restored photos from the Society's digital archive for permanent display. Through the years we have continued to add to their digital archive as new photos are discovered. In 2010, we provided digital images for their photo website. In 2013, we continued digital archival initiatives.
